Comments by Coach Rick DelleChiaie

Olivia Marshall is an outstanding young woman of impeccable character. She is a three sport captain and a true team leader. She has participated in Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor track for all 4 years. She has organized every team event/party/activity in an effort to promote team cohesiveness, while paying close individual attention to the younger athletes on the team. She inspires others through her encouraging words and actions. She is by far the hardest working, most dedicated distance runner on the team. She loves the sport and her enthusiasm is infectious. I consider her one of the best leaders I have ever coached. Olivia gets things done! She takes responsibility for things and does not pawn jobs off on others. As a coach, having a captain like that is invaluable. Olivia has a team first mentality and is always looking for ways to help improve the teams she is on. She has suggested techniques for team conditioning, come up with programs, and implemented them. Olivia is the type of athlete who would make a great coach someday.

Next year, Olivia will take her dedication to Westfield State College’s distance team.
